Welcome to the third edition of the Midwest Apologetics newsletter. Each month we will keep you informed on the latest news concerning the ministry.
Big Changes
Last month we talked about the major changes that our website had undergone in June. This month has a great deal of change in our personal lives. Tim and his family moved to the Southwest corner of Wisconsin to be near the school where he will be teaching science this year (Galena, IL). One week from today, Josh will be marrying his fiancée, Alissa, and they will be moving to Dubuque, IA where Josh will be a sophomore at Emmaus Bible College.
On Sunday, July 10, Tim spoke at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Stewartville, MN. He presented “Bible Difficulties: Why They Exist.” This talk was received very well and we have heard many encouraging comments. Also, Tim had the opportunity to lead an adult Sunday school class. He led a discussion on Clearing Up Common Misconceptions. This presentation was also warmly received and we were told that many people were edified.
Early August – Tim has been given an opportunity to write a guest article for www.tektonics.org (a popular apologetics ministry run by JP Holding). The topic of the article is contemporary Christian music. It has already been posted on our website (http://www.midwestapologetics.org/articles/theology/christianrock.htm) and should be posted on Tektonics’ site in the very near future. While this is not a typical topic for an apologist to cover, it is an issue that has seldom seen a fair and biblical critique. Tim hopes to provide that with this article. The article can be read on JP’s site at (http://www.tektonics.org/af/ccmbad.doc)
Josh has been invited to take part in a radio debate by an atheistic website. He has been involved in an online debate. Since he has been soundly defeating his opponent, several other atheists jumped in to either criticize or help their fellow believer (that God doesn’t exist). Josh must have caught someone’s attention to receive an invitation like this. Please pray that if/when he takes part in this debate, he will be able to clearly present the truth in love and that God will be glorified in this hostile arena.
We also have a few speaking engagements in the works right
now. Details will be released shortly.

- We have linked to a Christian bookstore’s website so that you may purchase nearly all of the materials we review (a few books are out of print and some are not be carried by this store). The name of the store is Lighthouse Christian Books. It happens to be one of Tim’s former employers so please support this ministry if you are planning on picking up some resources.
- Our “links” page on the website has been drastically overhauled. It looks much better with the inclusion of the various logos. Remember, we may not necessarily agree with everything from each of these sites. Please use discernment when visiting any site (including ours). Compare all things with Scripture.
If you have any questions, comment, concerns, corrections, ideas, etc., please email us and let us know. Also, please keep us in your prayers throughout this month.
