Welcome to the monthly Midwest Apologetics newsletter. Each issue is designed to keep you informed on the latest news concerning the ministry.
A Busy Month
The past month has been quite busy for Midwest Apologetics. The school year has come to an end. For Tim, this meant preparing and grading final exams. For Josh, this meant studying for and taking (acing – in his case) final exams.
This month also marked a big change for Tim. He will be moving down the hallway a bit from the science room to the Bible room. Next year, he will be teaching Bible and theology courses at Tri-State Christian School. This is a much better fit for him although he enjoyed teaching science and learned a great deal.
In the past several weeks, Tim has had several opportunities for ministry. Two of his talks were recorded and will be made available on DVD in the near future. Check the website for updates on this. The two talks are “The Futility of Old Earth Arguments” and “The Resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
Now that summer break is upon us, Tim should have more time to work on the website. However, he will still have several other responsibilities. In addition to preparing for his new curriculum at school, Tim has begun working on of his M.Div. classes.
Last Sunday, Tim gave a talk on biblical inerrancy at Grace Church in Viroqua. This message highlighted what this ministry is all about. God inspired His Word so that it could be completely trusted from the very first verse. Believers have no need to worry about whether or not God is telling us the truth because He cannot lie.
Sadly, it seems that too many Christians do not understand the importance of this doctrine. While many pay lip service to it, they often look to outside sources [read man’s opinions] for answers. From questions about our origins to questions about dealing with spiritual problems, far too many believers look to man’s ideas rather than God’s infallible Word.
The Church needs to understand that God’s Word can be trusted in its history, science, and any other discipline. If Scripture deals with a particular subject then it does so truthfully. Moreover, it is has been inspired by the One who knows everything and cannot lie. Countless skeptics have unsuccessfully launched their assaults on this book. It’s unfortunate that so many who trust in Christ for their salvation refuse to trust in His Word from beginning to end. Please pray that the Church will learn to trust the Savior’s Word in every area and as a result, will apply its teachings to every area of life.

If you would be interested to have Tim speak at your church, school, youth group, etc. please email us for more information.
The Da Vinci Code
The Da Vinci Code hit the big screen a couple of weeks ago to mixed reviews. After a large opening weekend, box office receipts tailed off quickly. The movie failed to live up to the book’s astounding success. As a result, it seems that the popularity of this novel will soon fade. It will probably gain a little boost later this year when it comes out on DVD. Nevertheless, be prepared for an onslaught of similar books that attack the deity of Christ, Church history, and/or the canon of Scripture.
The website has several book reviews and articles on this book and movie. If you would like to learn more about this subject, please consider having Tim give a presentation at your church.
Please pray for the following items this month:
- Cari – diagnosed with leukemia, has been improving.
- Gayla S. – the niece of a close friend of Midwest Apologetics has recently been intellectually convinced of the Christian faith but needs to take that step of faith to place her life in Christ’s hands. Please pray that she will take that next step.
We have had numerous people ask to be added to the newsletter mailing list. So we will take this opportunity to welcome those of you receiving this newsletter for the first time.
As always, if you have any questions, comment, concerns, corrections, ideas, prayer requests, etc., please email us and let us know. Also, thank you for your prayers. Please continue to keep us in your prayers throughout this month.
