That Battle Was Fought A Long Time Ago
“I would never preach a sermon on creation. After all, that battle was fought a long time ago.” These sentiments were recently expressed by a young man preparing for ministry. Sadly, they reflect the ignorance that abounds among Christians today on this issue.
Apparently, these people have not paid attention to the national news headlines which regularly highlight the growing controversy. Numerous school boards are wrestling with how to handle this issue since it is well known that evolutionary textbooks contain vast amounts of misinformation. Why did the Chicago Field Museum recently spend $17 million on their Evolving Planet exhibit? Why did New York’s American Museum of Natural History recently cough up $3 million to build their traveling Darwin exhibit? Why has the secular media paid so much attention to the Creation Museum being built by Answers in Genesis in the Cincinnati area?
The truth is that the young earth creationist movement is having a dramatic impact on our culture. Students are continually trained to believe that God’s Word is wrong in this area. When someone provides these students with answers from the Bible, they are often excited to learn more. Unfortunately, so many church leaders call this a dead issue.
Please pray that these leaders will wake up to the fact that God’s Word (especially in Genesis) is having a huge impact on our society and is perhaps our most useful tool in evangelizing this lost world. Get involved in this battle by studying some of the articles on our website (look under "Articles" and "Creation") or go to Answers in Genesis and make use of their vast resources. It's fun to be on the side of truth. Join us!
Dr. Bob Cornuke of Base Institute recently returned from the Middle East with some very intriguing news. Perched 13,120 feet above sea level is an object approximately 400 feet long that seems to be made from petrified wood. Cornuke was joined by thirteen respected Christian leaders on this trek – all of whom are cautious but optimistic about what they may have discovered. For a full report on this exciting news, please go to www.arkfever.com and be sure to watch the video.
This object may or may not be the elusive ark. Nevertheless, we do not need to see a physical boat to confirm the Genesis account of the worldwide Flood. God included it in His word. That is all the proof Christians should need.
We will continue to keep you posted on this and many other items of interest to the Christian faith in upcoming newsletters.
